Shopify Cart Drawer and Cart Page Customization

Most lost orders happen in the cart, before shoppers reach the checkout page. We customize it in four steps:

Cart Review

We watch how shoppers use your cart and where they drop off.

Cart Drawer Design

A slide-out cart with clear totals, free shipping progress and trust signals.

Upsells

Relevant add-ons inside the cart, without pop-ups.

Test

Tested on real phones and with real test orders before launch.

Checkout Customization on Shopify vs Shopify Plus

Shopify checkout is locked down for security, so what you can change depends on your plan:

Most stores get the biggest gains from the cart, which you can customize on any plan. Shopping cart optimization usually comes first; the checkout apps Shopify allows on your plan come second.

Cart Upsells That Don't Annoy Buyers

A Shopify checkout app or cart upsell should help shoppers, not interrupt them. Our rules:

For testing which cart changes earn more, see our checkout optimization service in the CRO team.

Best Checkout Pages We've Built

The best checkout pages share a few traits: express payment buttons at the top, clear shipping costs before the last step, trust badges near the pay button and as few fields as possible. When we customize checkout Shopify-side, those come first, then branding.

Cart and Checkout FAQs

Full checkout customization (checkout.liquid) requires Shopify Plus. On standard Shopify, we can customize the cart page, cart drawer and thank-you page using supported methods. We'll advise based on your plan.

A cart drawer is a slide-out cart panel that appears without navigating away from the page. It typically has higher conversion rates than a full cart page because it keeps the shopper in their buying flow.

Yes. A dynamic progress bar showing how much more a customer needs to spend to qualify for free shipping is a proven AOV booster. We build this into the cart drawer or cart page.

Yes. We add relevant product recommendations or bundle offers inside the cart — typically lifting AOV by 10–25%.

Cart customization is separate from email flows. If you need Klaviyo abandoned cart sequences set up, that falls under our Email Marketing service.

It is improving the cart so more shoppers continue to checkout: clear totals, shipping costs up front, trust signals, relevant upsells and a fast, simple layout on mobile.

Not for branding or the thank-you and order status pages. To customize the information, shipping and payment steps, you need Shopify Plus.

The most common reasons are unexpected shipping costs, having to create an account, a slow or confusing checkout and not enough payment options. Most can be fixed in the cart and checkout settings.
