Before You Start
You need: a Facebook Business Manager account, the Meta pixel installed on your Shopify store, and a minimum £10/day test budget. This guide assumes zero prior Meta ads experience.
Step 1: Install the Meta Pixel
In Shopify Admin → Sales Channels → Facebook → set up. This installs the pixel automatically. Verify it is firing in Meta Events Manager → Test Events. You should see PageView and ViewContent events.
Step 2: Set Up Your Campaign
In Meta Ads Manager → Create → Campaign. Choose objective: Sales → Conversions → Purchase. Name your campaign clearly (e.g. "SPS_May26_UK_TOF"). Enable Advantage Campaign Budget.
Step 3: Define Your Audience
Start with broad targeting (UK, age 25–55, all genders) and let Meta's algorithm find buyers. Alternatively, use Interest targeting related to your product category. Avoid being too narrow — let Meta optimise.
Step 4: Create Your Ad
Use a single image or short video (under 15 seconds). Show the product in use. Lead with the outcome, not the product. Test 2–3 creative variations per ad set. Write a clear primary text: problem → solution → CTA.
Step 5: Set Budget and Launch
Start at £10–20/day per ad set. Run for 7 days before making changes. Optimise for Purchase conversions — do not touch campaigns during the learning phase (50 events needed).
